Ketamine - Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

What is Ketamine -Assisted Therapy? (KAP)

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy is a therapeutic approach that combines the careful, medical use of ketamine with psychotherapy to support healing, insight, and emotional flexibility. Ketamine can help quiet habitual thought patterns and soften defenses, allowing clients to access deeper emotional material with less fear or overwhelm.

In this expanded state, therapy becomes an opportunity to explore experiences, emotions, and perspectives that may feel difficult to reach through talk therapy alone. The process is always intentional, supported, and integrated—before, during, and after sessions—to help ensure insights translate into meaningful, lasting change.

KAP is not about escape or symptom suppression; it is about creating the conditions for deeper healing, self-understanding, and nervous system regulation in a safe and guided therapeutic setting.

What are the steps to get started?

Getting Started with Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

  1. Initial Consultation
We begin with a consultation to understand your goals, history, and whether Ketamine-Assisted Therapy is a good fit for you. This is also a time for you to ask questions and get a clear sense of the process.

  2. Medical Screening
A thorough medical evaluation is completed by a licensed prescriber to ensure ketamine is safe and appropriate for you.

  3. Preparation Sessions
Before any ketamine sessions, we meet to prepare—clarifying intentions, building safety, and discussing what to expect. Preparation helps create a grounded and supportive experience.

  4. Ketamine Sessions
Ketamine is administered in a carefully monitored setting. During the session, I provide therapeutic support to help you feel safe, present, and supported.

  5. Integration Sessions
Within 72 hours, attend a KAP integration session to process your experience, gain insight, and translate breakthroughs into lasting behavioral and emotional changes.

  6. Continued Support
KAP sessions can be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly to build momentum and achieve transformational change. Most clients benefit from 4–8 KAP sessions, depending on goals and therapeutic needs.
